Introduction
Welcome to this sixth and final forum hosted by Laurence Vanoflen!
Far from being an interlude (or interregnum) between the Enlightenment and Romanticism, the 1770-1800 (or 1820) decades were a period of change with deep continuities and ruptures. They see the birth of the new coordinates of the society and of the individual. The political and social upheaval introduced by the Revolution was accompanied by a change in the perception of time, beauty and art, but also by the discovery of interiority. This is what we propose you to study in this forum.
